From harvest to winelands game drives, catch up with the latest news and special offerings at Villiera Wines in Stellenbosch.
After a good harvest this year, it has remained dry in the Cape while the rest of the country is flooding. However, the autumn colours are appearing and winter will be upon us soon.
In the cellar at Villiera Wines, the white blends have been determined and the bottling line is running flat out to package the new wines for delivery to our customers. The next stage is to taste all our Cap Classique base wines to determine the blends for bottling in August.
Around the world, markets are subdued but there is still good interest in our wines. Our major problem is poor availability of packaging materials and containers for shipment. Good planning is required under the current circumstances and that is where we excel. This means we should be able to keep all of you supplied.
The Winter Feast is back!
We are delighted to announce the return of our much-anticipated Winter Feast, hosted by cellarmaster Jeff Grier and our winemakers.
Guests will be welcomed with Monro Brut and Grier Brut upon arrival. We’ve teamed up with the Goose Roasters who will treat you to a 4-course lunch, each course complemented by a Villiera and a Domaine Grier wine. As the temperature drops and winter sets in, we will transform our cellar into a warm and cosy venue to embrace this special occasion.

Wine awards
In both the National Wine Challenge and SAWI our Cap Classiques performed exceptionally well, with our Monro Brut and Tradition receiving Double Platinum and Platinum medals respectively.
Our Monro Merlot 2020 showed its class, receiving a Double Platinum at NWC and a Grand Gold from SAWI. Our Barrel Fermented Chenin Blanc 2021 has also continued with its success and was awarded 95 points by the WineMag and a Platinum medal by SAWI.
At the recent Gilbert and Gaillard International Challenge, we received six Golds Medals for our Down To Earth White 2022, Jasmine 2022, Chenin Blanc 2022, Sauvignon Blanc 2022, Down to Earth Red 2020 and the Merlot 2020.

Wine tastings and game drives
Visit our Wine Sanctuary to enjoy any of our standard wine tastings or our Cap Classique and nougat pairings. The Cap Classique pairing is available on a pre-booking basis only at R150 per person.
Monday to Friday: 09:00-17:00
Saturdays: 09:00-15:00
Game drives are available at Villiera Wines, but booking is essential.
Cost of game drive per adult: R280 (includes a wine tasting)
Cost of game drives for children under 15 years: R140 each
