The prospects for 2022 began to excite most of the wine farmers in the Western Cape. Then in January we were hit by a heatwave which will have a negative effect but we are still positive about the 2022 vintage. The pandemic is becoming less severe and working conditions are verging on getting back to normal. Staff are enthusiastic and the exciting harvest vibe is back.
The pandemic has caused a significant increase in packaging and transport costs, which has forced us to increase prices accordingly. However, this Newsletter gives you early warning and you have the opportunity to buy at old prices until the end of February. On the positive side, with normality returning, we are beginning to include events to offer you the chance to once again enjoy a Villiera experience. The first of these is our Harvest Table event.
Harvest Table 2022
We are delighted to be able to host a Harvest Table Event this year on Saturday, 12 March. After more than 20 months of limited contact, it seems fitting to celebrate coming together during the 2022 harvest under the majestic old trees on the Villiera lawns.
Guests will be welcomed with Bubbly and Canapes followed by a Tapas-style dinner feast, served on platters for two in keeping with covid regulations. A mini dessert selection plated to share will end the harvest feast. Dinner includes a selection of Villiera wines and will be accompanied by live music.

New Vintage Release
The Villiera Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 has been released and this is the last of the still wines that now feature the re-styled new label with a more classic design. The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded 93 points at the Gilbert and Gaillard International Awards. The 2018 vintage is now available in our Online Shop.
Price Increase
Due to the significant increases that have occurred in packaging and logistics costs during the last year, we will be adjusting our wine prices effective from 1 March 2022. Stock up on your favourite Villiera wine before then and put some savings back in your pocket.

Wine Tastings & Game Drives
In addition to our Standard Wine Tastings we also have our Bubbly and Nougat Pairings on offer in the Wine Sanctuary again.
We have teamed up with Roses to pair three of our Cap Classiques and a Traditional Method Sparkling wine from Domaine Grier France with their handcrafted nougat. Available on a pre-booking basis only at R150 per person.
