Punchion Pinot Noir 2022
This Pinot Noir is terroir driven and Villiera carefully sources the grapes in the Overberg region. It is an artisanal wine made in small quantities. It was fermented in open “punchions” (400L barrels) with 30% whole bunch split between the top and bottom for different flavour profiles. 20% of the wine went into new French oak with the rest into used French oak barrels. The wine was in barrel for 10 months before bottling.
Spicy and succulent with a good berry core and concentration. Elegant but powerful.
